Nice, but Edgington is an environmental whacko and his view of humanity is absurd. As if he's concerned about how many people die mining for diamonds? And why should we waste our time on it either? You might as well select any other product from Africa, and use the adjective "blood" to describe it. Tyrants over there want to wage war and they will find money from all kinds of sources to do it with, not just diamonds. Global warming is BS. If anything, Edgington shows us how foolish the liberal view of mankind is.

You know what I noticed when I created a Twitter list of favorite people, that is, people who inspire me, consistently provide useful or helpful content, or are just all-around engaging with me--they are about 95% women. I didn't do that on purpose and I didn't even notice until a guy who I put on the list pointed out to me that he was the only guy on my list. Good for him, but for the rest of the guys out there, STEP IT UP, man!

Oh, and I'm glad I've been a good influence for you :) Alone we would get almost nowhere, but together I think we're going to do some really cool shit. Looking forward to it!

Exactly. Hiring you has more to do with their state of mind than with your background and the various facets of your life. The key I guess then is to get them in the right state of mind and I guess that's what marketing is all about. I'm learning! lol Thanks for the comment!

I agree with this big time. I continually remind myself that no matter how hard it gets to hustle clients or meet with people who could hire me that wrenching my insides to seem like the kind of person they might like probably isn't worth the effort or even the results. Nice post!

Agreed. Any time a worker has to either charge to indirect or take vacation time to avoid having indirect time on their time sheet is a problem.

Story of my life!

I hate when people judge productivity based on the number of hours someone spends "working." What I hate even more is that I can't leave work before 5 p.m. even if I have finished all my work for the next 2 days. It just makes no sense, people should get paid for the work they do not for the hours they spend working. It will be much better for employees and for companies.

Hmm. I wonder who the young man was? *cough*Scott*cough*

All I'm saying is history is strewn with people and characters making poor choices. What it comes down to is if they are of legal age and aren't hurting anyone, let 'em live.

I dunno, this young man sounds quite insightful to look down upon what essentially was a Disney story heavily infused with Mormon values over Christian ones. Helpless girl who makes countless poor decisions until saved or convinced otherwise by a stronger & wiser male. Young women should aim to be the heroes not slit their wrists over them (and yes she dedicates an entire book to suicidal tendancies because a guy she knew for 6 months dumped her) ;o)
