That reminds me of a vacation to San Francisco with my cousins to visit their brother who was living out there at the time. One of my cousins is so organized and plans everything and she kind of over-planned. We wound up running around a lot and when a wrench was thrown in, we had no extra room to fit anything in at a later time so we lost out by not being flexible enough. Seems to be a common theme nowadays.

It's kind of like my take on visiting just about any big city. A lot of people run themselves ragged trying to make sure they see " a little bit of everything" in the short time they are there. If they go to D.C. for a day, they want to make sure they see every monument, tour the White House and the Capital, walk through EACH Smithsonian, stop by the botanical gardens, have lunch on The Mall...you get the idea.

Not going to happen. At least, not going to happen in any meaningful way. So when I go to a city, I make it a point to choose three things I really want to see, and I spend large amounts of time at those places. That way I get something out of each experience...instead of everything being watered down because, "I have to see as much as I can here in case I never get back."
